The Taite Music Prize

January 21 2010
Media7 interviews IMNZ's Damian Vaughan and Cameron Bennett about The Taite Music Prize

The Taite Music Prize has been established to champion the finest release by a New Zealand artist or group, specifically focusing on the artistic merit and creative excellence of one album released in the previous calendar year.

The prize purpose is to recognize outstanding creativity for an entire collection of music contained on one album

In our inaugural year a New Zealand artist or group will be awarded The Taite Music Prize, receiving a cash prize in acknowledgment of the best full length New Zealand album released in 2009, regardless of genre, sales or record label.

In 2010 the cash prize is $10,000
